IBF Foundation Privacy Policy

The purpose of this document is to define the privacy policy with regards to the collection and use of any Personal data by the IBF Foundation (hereinafter “IBFF”) through its website (as found at the URL http://www.ibf-foundation.org) or through its daily operations. This Privacy Policy may be amended. A notification of any modification is posted on the website home page.

Personal data that is collected

If you register for a newsletter, log on to the website, order merchandise, request information, provide feedback, apply for a job, join a discussion group or join an electronic mailing list, you will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and e-mail address.  This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission, and is kept in the IBF and IBFF databases.  If you are purchasing something on the web or making a donation you may be asked to provide your credit card details.

 

Purpose of use of the Personal data

Normal web usage
The information gathered during general browsing of the “ibf-foundation.org” domain is used to analyse trends and usage of the IBFF site and to improve the usefulness of the site.  It is not connected with any personal information.  However, if you have registered with IBFF in connection with any activity on the IBFF site, the information we collect about your normal web usage will be identifiable to you.

Providing personal information on the IBFF web site is optional.  If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still browse and use the IBFF site, but you will not be able to carry out certain actions such as purchasing items, registering for a newsletter, applying for a traineeship or contacting a school.

The IBF Foundation does not keep Personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed.

 

Confidentiality of the Personal data

The IBF Foundation handles all Personal data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy and the legal obligations applicable to the processing of Personal data.

The IBF Foundation has adopted adequate measures to protect all the Personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, un-authorised disclosure of, or access to, Personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed.

The IBF Foundation optimizes the security of the Personal data by i.a. using encryption, firewalls, password protections and limiting the access to the Personal data. However, the transmission of information via the internet can never be completely secure and the provision of Personal data remains at one’s own risk at all times.

Part of the data is accessed by IBF’s staff based outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Any financial data is only used for the purpose of helping local communities according to the IBFF’s projects or to respect Belgian legal obligations.

The IBF Foundation does not provide any Personal data to third parties except if such disclosure is necessary in order to protect legitimate interests of IBFF or if it is required or permitted by law.
